When a tree is removed, there’s more than just the trunk and branches to consider. While some homeowners don’t mind a stump left behind, other homeowners may want a pristine landscape. Without Durham stump grinding and stump removal services, you can have the stump-free landscape you want.

When a tree is removed, a stump is left behind that stands around six to 12 inches above the ground. Stump grinding takes a special machine and grinds the stump down around four to six inches below ground level.
If requested, we can grind the stump further below our normal procedure for an additional cost. When we grind the stump down, wood chips are left behind to fill the hole and the surrounding area. Wood chips can be removed upon request for an additional fee.

Stump grinding is the more popular method, though stump grinding is another alternative. We usually have to bring in an excavator to dig up the stump and you’re left with a hole that you need to have filled with dirt.
This process is more intense and can become more expensive. Extra equipment is needed and, once the stump is removed, extra dirt is needed to fill the hole left.
